Crestliner Congratulates Pro John Cox on Top 3 Finish at the Bassmaster Elite Tournament
Crestliner Pro, John Cox had one of his most impressive showings on the elite circuit at the Guaranteed Rate Bassmaster Elite in Knoxville, Tennessee this past weekend placing third onboard his Crestliner MX 21 powered by a Mercury 250 ProXS. To kickoff off his second season on the Bassmaster Elite Series, Cox secured a podium finish with a count of 20 bass for 52-10 Sunday.
Over the course of his career, Cox has had more than 40 top 10 finishes across the FLW and Bassmaster Elite tour, and this Sunday’s Top 3 finish marks one of his top career performances. On Saturday, Cox jumped from fifth to third and was able to maintain his position with a strong finish bringing in a 14-9 bag of largemouth on the final day. Cox’s winning performance resulted in a $30,000 paycheck plus $3,000 for being the highest-placing entrant in the Toyota Bonus Bucks program.
Known as the "Tin Man," Cox has utilized an aluminum boat for almost his entire career and has been affiliated with Crestliner boats since 2013. As a fixture on the FLW scene for nearly a decade running his Crestliner PT20 and 1850 Bass Hawk to championship levels, he made the decision in 2020 to fish both the FLW schedule and the Bassmaster Elite Series in 2020 – also with Crestliner.
In addition to his tournament success, the Florida native is a true champion of the Crestliner brand on and off the water. Multiple times a year, Cox supports Crestliner’s Angling Aces Student Angler Program giving seminars and providing the award winner a guided tour with him in Florida.
“On behalf of all of us at Crestliner, we are incredibly proud of John on his impressive performance and the determination he showed over the course of the tournament to bring home a Top 3 finish,” said Joe Woodward, Senior Marketing Manager, Crestliner. “His winnings represent his talent on the water and our commitment to powering champions, and we look forward to supporting his continued success throughout the 2021 season and beyond.”
